Is learning to play poker worth it?

If you'd like to learn the game with the goal of winning money at home games or the occasional (for-fun) casino trip, then yes, it's worth learning. With just an understanding of the basics you should have a decent advantage over really bad players and win without too much trouble, and at least break even at casinos.
